LIFT-A-LIMB® Upper Extremity Units are ideal for wound care, prepping, surgical procedures, recovery, casting, splinting, treatment, trauma care and edema control. Home care applications for comfortable arm support post injury or medical intervention are effectively provided by LIFT-A-LIMB® Upper Extremity Units.

These lightweight (1.5 lbs) and adjustable in height and angle arm supports are easily draped for cleanliness / sterility and provide non-skid stable positioning. Adjusting knobs are ergonomically designed for minimal hand, wrist and finger stress.

Made in the U.S.A., LIFT-A-LIMB® is listed and registered with the Food and Drug Administration as a Class I Orthosis, Limb-Brace.

The Upper Extremity Unit includes Velcro attached non-skid, fire retardant foam base and trough pads to further decrease pressure and increase client comfort plus two Velcro straps for additional safety/security as the need exists.

Hospitals and Surgical Centers have purchased units for usage in the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Ambulatory Surgery, Emergency Room and Wound Care Centers.

LIFT-A-LIMB® units have been proven to be cost effective and contribute to the safety of staff and patients.

Additional applications utilizing adjustable height and angle include:

Decreased stress on the joints directly related to the weight of the limbs or casts

Usage during ambulation while elevating and stabilizing an arm transfers its weight to the body without stress

Foam is non-skid but can easily be shifted to front or side for arm protection

Used in place of a sling, more effective elevation, shoulder abduction and flexion is provided without shoulder strap discomfort

Full support when unit is placed on a lap, chair, couch, table, desk , bed or in a car

Comfortable arm support for the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand plus decreased stress on the joints directly related to the weight of the limbs or casts are valued features during rehabilitation and recovery.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Correct placement and adjustment of the height and angle are essential for proper and safe usage of LIFT-A-LIMB® units.

Initial adjustments are necessary to establish desired arm elevation, positioning and tension suitable for the individual user. Proper adjustments provide and maintain maximal stress free shoulder support.

These initial adjustments should be determined and performed by a professional caregiver, preferably a physician, occupational therapist, physical therapist or properly trained person. In some cases, self-adjustment is appropriate as directed by a professional.
